This set was inspired by me going in my basement and Diggin' in my crates of vinyl. This is Hip-Hop, B-Boy, Pop, & some Disco. I remember going into the city and spending all of my money on these records, two of each. Then going home and locking myself in the basement and just started mixing. Those were the days. Enjoy.

Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 – September 13, 1996), also known by his stage name 2Pac and briefly as Makaveli, in my opinion is the second greartest rapper of all times, The Notorious B.I.G. being # 1. Just to prove I'm not bais I've included Tupac's diss record aimed at Biggie and other East Coast rappers. MTV ranked him at number two on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time and Rolling Stone named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. The lyrics this young man put down is timeless. Happy Birthday Mr. Shakur.

This is a Lovers Rock & Classic Reggae Dancehall mix. Reggae developed from Ska and Rocksteady in the 1960s. The shift from Rocksteady to Reggae was illustrated by the organ shuffle pioneered by Jamaican musicians like Jackie Mittoo and Winston Wright and featured in transitional singles "Say What You're Saying" (1967) by Clancy Eccles and "People Funny Boy" (1968) by Lee "Scratch" Perry. The Pioneers' 1968 track "Long Shot (Bus' Me Bet)" has been identified as the earliest recorded example of the new rhythm sound that became known as reggae. The roots of Lovers Rock lies in the last days of the Rocksteady era and early days of Reggae, with Jamaican and American singers such as Ken Boothe, Johnny Nash and John Holt enjoying international hits with versions of well-known love songs.

Enjoy!
